GENCAD aims to analyse existing knowledge about gender differences in CAD risk factors, disease mechanisms, clinical manifestations, treatment, access to health care, and management and outcomes by:
- Generating an extensive bibliographic review. We will consult all available public literature sources.
- Analyzing public sociodemographic and medical databases in representative member states on age dependent CAD incidence, prevalence and mortality. We will analyse how European registries satisfy the needs of gender studies and if gender relevant information is included.
- Assessing member state policies in CAD prevention and treatment. We will determine the current policy climate for the recognition and the action on gender and coronary heart disease.
